“The mission of Get Artistic is to find creative ways to add value to the local arts community, beginning with six primary avenues of support: 1) leveraging the Get Artistic Lead staff member to curate exhibition and performance space onsite; 2) offering strategic grant proposals; 3) patronizing local artists: both as-is and commissioned works; 4) providing long-term patronage (e.g., artist residency programs); 5) creating onsite enrichment opportunities for the arts community; 6) supporting nonprofit and government-funded arts programming.”
-Creature Comforts Brewing Co.
For those of you who don’t know much of Creature Comforts, not only are they a top notch brewery, making beers that please the palates of many a beer connoisseur, they are also deeply and heartedly involved in the arts and local community.
Our collaboration together for the 48 Beer Project is far more than a quick label, but very much a facet of their commitment to artists and creativity everywhere. To really offer the customers and fans a richer experience during my stop in Athens, we are hosting an art night, where YOU can create your own original piece of art alongside me.
I don’t get to do this sort of thing often enough, so I’m pretty pumped to get up there and make some sweet art with y’all! Whatever you make, you take..but I’m hoping you will send my way next year, for me to include in my post-road 48 Beer Project exhibition.
The fun will unfold at the Creature Comforts taproom on the 27th, starting at 5!
